An introduction to Data, marketing and Business

Today data plays a very important role in marketing and enhancing the businesses. Complex business data are processed by the computer with the help of data processing software. Big data are managed by the Database Administrator who plan, configure, design database, migrate, monitor performance, and troubleshoot. Also he perform the task like data backup and recovery etc.

Today in the era of technology and internet, area of business data has become very big and complex. Now data contains everything that takes place over internet. For example-  call center conversions, videos on internet, webinar broadcast, blogging posts, website visits, online financial transaction over debit or credit card etc. are come under category data in business world.

Regarding marketing, data refers to the various types information such as online and retail sales, visitors of business website, newsletters or blog post subscribers of websites, survey information about new products or services which company want to launch in future, and many more. Whatever business marketers need to know about their prospective customers should be included in the data. After collecting marketing data,  marketers interpret the data according to their expertise to take further decision about business growth.

Now website traffic analysis tool of search engine like Google Analytics is a good tool of marketing. This tool provides a detail information about the people who visited the website and shown their interest in products or services of the company. Google analytics tool provides information about total number of visitors per day or per month, locations of visitors, devices on which visitors visited the website, total time spent by the visitors on the website, page URL visited by the visitors, and action taken by the visitors like sign up for newsletters, or online sales etc.

So based on data and its analysis, marketers can be aware about their customer group having more sales potential. When marketers will know that who can become their customer then they can focus their marketing attention on them.
